NRK må spare penger som alle andre om dagen og har besluttet å legge ned Sportsrevyen etter over 60 år på lufta. Mang en søndag har flere generasjoner våknet opp litt for sent til alt av sports på statskanalen.
NRK sin sportsredaktør Espen Olsen Langfeld sier det ikke var en enkel avgjørelse: «Gjennom 60 år har Sportsrevyen betydd enormt mye for NRK og for store deler av Norges befolkning»
Grunnen er at NRK må kutte i alle divisjoner og innholdsmiljø som følge av strammere økonomiske rammer.
Sportsrevyen har blitt sendt på NRK hver uke siden september 1960 og er et av de eldste TV-programmene på NRK. Den første sendingen gikk av stabelen 18. september i 1960 og hadde Jarle Høysæter og Oddvar Foss som programledere.
Arne Scheie og Karen Marie Ellefsen er blant dem som har ledet Sportsrevyen siden.
– Vi skal fremdeles fortelle de gode historiene, vise fram bredden og være lidenskapelig til stede på alle plattformer – på TV, radio og nett, sier Langfeldt i pressemeldingen.
